Biography – Geoffrey Horowitz

When I was 11 years old my dad woke me up at 5:00 one Sunday morning and asked, “how would you like to skip Hebrew School today and come with me to take some pictures.”  Despite the crusty eyed haze I was in, it was a no brainer.  That trip to Cape May, NJ put my life on a course that I never could have imagined.

My college background is Sociology and Early Childhood Education.  During my student teaching year I taught photography at a Montessori School.  Over the course of a 10-year career in insurance, I was the go to guy for photo documentation.  The week I quit that job 3 different people approached me because they needed a professional photographer.  That leap of faith, to quit insurance and follow my heart, became what is now Leapfrog Photography.

Since then my work has been seen in Modern Bride, Philadelphia Elegant Wedding, Sports Illustrated, Triathlete Magazine, Jobsite Magazine (cover), Elle and beyond.  More importantly, as a wedding photographer I have been privileged to take part in a rite of passage in the lives of hundreds of couples and their families.
