The company I own is Customized Wedding Creations and we create unique, hand-painted aisle runners, table runners, banners, and parasols for weddings and events. Back in March of 2007, I was planning my own wedding and saw so many different types of do-it-yourself projects that I wanted to try. I thought I’d try painting mine and my husband’s names on a lace type aisle runner for added dramatic effect. It turns out I wasn’t even able to use the aisle runner for my own wedding, but that didn’t stop me from making tons of other runners for friends and internet chums who saw what I had created for myself. Over two years and 600 aisle runners later, I’ve developed a company and made it into something I adore doing. Every time a bride or groom sends pictures of one of my creations used in his or her wedding, I get butterflies. It’s such an awesome feeling to know that I’ve helped to make something for one of the most important days in everyone’s life.
When I came across the Philadelphia Wedding Project, I was intrigued and had to find out more. I kept reading about the concept and knew I had to be a part. Though I sell all over the country and even internationally, Philadelphia is in my own backyard and being able to contribute to something so local is a joy.
