After years of practicing in the beauty industry, we individually were ready for something just a little different and edgy. We knew we didn’t want a “salon” atmosphere but more of a comfortable, elegant and personalized environment for our clients. A studio. We also realized how “specialized” our services really were and complimented each other perfectly. Surprisingly enough a beautiful little corner spot became available in a very fast growing area in Philadelphia known as Northern Liberties, we fell in love and the story continues…

Claudia’s background as a celebrity makeup artist for television, print, editorial, and commercial photography goes back 15 years, but her real passion is bridal and bridal editorial. Prior to these 15 years, Claudia was an interpreter and social worker. The combination of her experience in both careers has made her one the most sought after makeup artist and stylist in the bridal industry, with followings totaling more than 650 weddings in the past 8 years, and whose work has been published in numerous publications.

My goal is to help you look and “feel” the best you have ever felt, and more importantly help you feel relaxed and confident that your vision is coming to life.

Tiffany’s background comes with 15 years of experience in hair cutting, coloring, styling. She specializes in hair extensions, and has been considered to one of the top in her field using the finest European hair, she is an educator for Extend USA and has trained internationally.

Kim Lancashire- Lash Girl

Kim is a certified lash stylist with an extensive clientele across the country! Kim has also been practicing skin care as a licensed esthetician and involved in the spa industry for the last 9 years. She specializes in customized facial treatments and is certified in the use of essential oils, Kim personalizes each session to maximize the healing properties of aromatherapy and enhance the benefits of deep relaxation during each session.

When I was twenty years old I did makeup for my first wedding. It was a feeling that I will never forget. I thought to myself, how lucky am I to share in the best day of a woman’s life? I mean think about it, I am there while the friends and family pile in, I am there when the flowers arrive and if I am really lucky, I get to see the bride change into her wedding gown. To me, it is all a truly magical experience, and one that I never take for granted.

I want to start by saying how flattered I was when I was contacted about being part of the Philadelphia Wedding Project.  I have so much respect for the photographers involved, and I’m honored to be in their company to this good end, that is, to tell the whole story about a deserving couple.

I can appreciate the value in that.  When I’m working with a bride, I put my whole self into making the day better—not just highlighting her unique beauty, but really getting to know her and the people she has chosen to surround herself with on her wedding day.

The best compliment I ever got from a bride was just recently.  We were in Cape May, the weather was perfection, and I was finishing up her make-up as she gazed out onto the blue sky and beach.  Her sister asked her what she was thinking about.  She said, “I was just thinking of how grateful I am that Béke is here.”  I was truly moved.

I’ve been blessed by the make-up “business.”  I started in New York City in 1990, fortunate to be trained by Laura Geller of QVC fame.  Later I joined forces with friend and celebrity make-up artist Kimara Ahnert.  We worked on Catherine Zeta-Jones’ wedding together, and through her I did Joey McIntyre’s wedding and make-up for Tipper Gore, among others.  My friend Terri Fellows, a hairstylist who makes frequent appearances in Allure magazine, introduced me to Judith Nathan, then the fiancé of Mayor Rudy Giuliani.  I was with them on New Year’s Eve of 2002, just after 9/11 and the last night of his term as mayor.  These are some of the charmed experiences I’ve had because of being a make-up artist, in the right place at the right time.

Now you know a wee bit about my story, and soon enough, a couple will be chosen who will get to tell their whole story through pictures.  What a remarkable idea….
